Each year the club supports one main charity and at least one small, local charity; small recipients can be chosen once only in a five-year period.
For 2019 the main charity is the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity (MAAC) and we also chose two small, local charities to support:
Remap Herefordshire - who make and modify equipment for disabled people, and
Relay Riders UK who are championing Doc+Bike - Working to eradicate motorcycle deaths through engagement, injury prevention, education & roadside critical care!
In 2018 the total for St Michael's Hospice was £1125 and
Herefordshire Heartstart - who received £405
Unfortunately, Sapphire Trust - pet rehoming, the other small charity we intended to support was closed during the year; the monies were re-allocated to the other two charities.
The club supports the following main charities in rotation:
MacMillan Cancer Support; St Michael's Hospice; Wales or Midlands Air Ambulance
(the two air ambulance services between them provide cover for the areas we most commonly ride).
